That an abatement of 68. a week be made to Mary Conn, out. of the weekly rent of 12s. by her bid for Stall No. 20 in the English Shambles, it appearing she could not pay said rent. That the Rt. Worshipful Warden Flood, Esq., Judge of H. M. High Court of .Admiralty of this Kingdom, he presented with his freedom in a Silver X box. Present-Mr. Mayor, Sher. Lawton and Purcell; Alden. No business for want of a sufficient number. - Wm. Snowe.; Clk. of Council. Present-Mr. Mayor, Ald. Wrixon. 4 Dec., 1778. Whereas it is found necessary to carry on a suit at common law, in the name of the Mayor, &c., against Nicholas Fitton, for a breach of his coil- tract for supplying this City with water, and whereas said Nicholas Fitton hath filed a bill in H. M. Court of Exchequer against the Mayor, &c., to prevent his being sued for such breach, ordered, that a posting be put up in the Exchange for a C. D. H., to be held at the Guildhall on 14 Dec., to appoint managers pursuant to the Bye-Laws, as well for carrying on said suit as to defend that commenced by Fitton ; It., It appears that Mary Collins, widow, hath a claim to Stall No. 1 in the English flesh shambles for a term of five years and one month from 6 Dec. inst., under the rent of 14d. per week, and whereas said stall, by orders of Council and C. D. H.
