NUMBER OF LAMPS FOR THE DIFFERENT PARISHES FIXED.

Knight, gent., to the late Sheriffs, for £40, the amount of two fines imposed on them at last Spring Assizes, and which belqng to the Corporation, be delivered up by the late Sheriffs to said Breton a~d Knight ; It., £40 to John J appie and Gibbs Ross, High Constables of this City, a recompense for their activity in bringing to justice divers Felons, Rioters, and disturbers of the public peace of this City ; It., that no money for the future be paid out of the Revenues of the Corporation to the High Constables, as the Grand Jury are empowered by the late Act to present a reasonable sum of money at each Assizes for the trouble of said High Constables; It., that the stalls, No. 1, 2, 6, 9, 10, 11, 15, 16, 18, 20, 21, 26, 27, 30, 33, and the Gate and Post at the right side of the entrance on the East end in the ~nglish Shambles, be set by public cant to Protestant butchers, for 7 years, at a weekly rent, no butcher to have more than one stall, and that Stalls 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, in the back Shambles be set for seven years at a weekly rent, &c., the person taking each stall to give two persons security by bond for the payment of the rent, to be approved by the Mayor. Present--Mr. Mayor, Sher. Purcell; Alden. Bury, Wetherall, Wrixon, Maylor, Baker, Travers, Owgan; Mr. Hen. Harding, and Pick, C. S. 4 Nov. No business for want of a sufficient number. -W. Westropp, Maylor, and Row.. land. 6 Nov., 1778. · Whereas the Lamp Contractors appointed by order 22 Sep. last, for erecting, &c., the Lamps in the Par. of the Holy Trinity, have not been ~ble to erect said Lamps on 29 Sep., pursuant to said order, resolved; that said order, as it relates to said Par. of Holy Trinity, be rescinded ; and we fix ~20 Globe lamps to be erected in said parish, and that Mr. Geo. Seymour shall supply said Lamps at 11s. 4!d. for. each Lamp, and that each lamp be properly covered and be 11! inches in diameter, the price of said Lamps amounting in the whole to £125 Os. 6d., said Seymour to provide new globes in the room of such as shall happen to be b~oken between 9 Nov. inst. and 25 March next, at· 6s. 6d. for each globe; that Mr. Timothy Hughes. provide lamp irons for said 220 lamps, at 4 pence by the pound,·
