REGULATIONS CONCERNING THE PUBLIC LAMPS.

the Mayor, &c., do fix 220 globe lamps to be erected in .the parish of the Holy Trinity; that Mr. George Seymour shall supply said lamps at 11s. 4!d. each, and replace any that shall be broken before 25 March, at 6s. 6a. each lamp; that Mr. Timothy.Hughes shall provide the iron-work for said lamps, at 4d. a pound; that Mr. Gibbs Ross and Mr. Hamilton Crawford shall provide such posts as shall be wanting; and we fix that said lamps be lighted from 29 Sep. to 25 March, with single burners, the hours of lighting to be from 29 Sep. to 1 Nov. from 5 P.M. to 6 A.M., from 1 Nov. to 1 Feb. from 4 P.M. to 7 A.M., and from 1 Feb. till 25 March from 5 P. M. to 6 A.M. ; and that Rich d. Fuller, merch t., Henry Holmes, do., and John Greatrakes, pewterer, be lamp contractors for cleansing, trimming and lighting, &c. said lamps, at the rate of 20s. for each lamp, said Fuller, Holmes, and Great- rakes to replace any of the globes that be broken at his own expense, and that they execute a bond to the Mayor, &c., for £500 for executing said office; and we fix, that 60 globe lamps be erected in the Par. of S. Paul, and that Mr. George Seymour and Mr. Sam. Wright provide said lamps properly covered of 11! inches diameter, and keep same in repair from 29 Sep. inst. to 25 March, and deliver up said globes and irons in thorough repair to the Church Wardens, and that said Seymour and Wright be paid £40 for same; that Mr. wm. Stephens and Mr. Charles Lamb provide 60 globe irons for said Lamps, at 3d. per pound (hours of lighting as above), and that s:;tid 60 lamps be lighted with Turkey cotton Wick yarn of eight threads, and said Stephens and Lamb be contractors for lighting, &c., said lamps in the Par. of S. Paul, at the rate of £1 6s. for each lamp, and that they execute a bond to the Mayor, &c., fur £500, for executing said office; and we appoint Ald. Hugh Lawton, George Goold, Esq., James Bonwell, Esq., Adam Newman, Es<i., Mr. John J appie, Mr. Wm. Kearns, Mr. Tho. Osburn, Mr. John Logan, Mr. John Walsh, Mr. Michrel Mahony, Mr. Ed- ward Sweeny, Mr. wm. Phipps, Mr. James Willis, an~ Mr. James Ellis a Committee to regulate, &c., said lamps. That Sackville Hamilton, Esq., be admitted a freeman at large. Present-Mr. Mayor, Sher. Harding and Lane; Alden. Westropp, Millerd, Wrixon, Maylor, Baker, Webb, Butler; Mr. Browne, Izod, and Pick, C.
