Ordered, that the Earl of Buekinghamshire, Lo.-Licut., be presented with 'y/ his freedom in a gold box, by our representative in J>arliament and our '"-. Recorder, and that his freedom and box be sent to the Ut. Hon. the Provost ; It., Rt. Hon. Richd. Heron, SecY. to Lo.-Lieut., in a silver box, to be p r e - ';/.. sented likewise; It., that .Ald. Philpott and Uowland exam~~-the accounts of Francis Carleton, jun., receiver to Bretridge's and Skiddy's Almshouses ; It., that two stalls in the English Market, No. 15 and 21, be set to the )< highest bidder (being a Protestant butcher) for seven years, living so long• provided he does not hire or lend it to a Papist ; to be void in case the Corporation in the meantime think proper to convert the Shambles to any other use. It., .£36 12s. 1d. to Ald. Westropp, Master of the Blue Coat Hospital, balance of his account ; It., that a Cap and Gown be provided by 1\Ir. Mayor for the Sword-bearer. Present-Mr. Mayor, Sher. Ordered, that a Posting be put upon the Exchange, for a C. D. H., on 21 inst., at 11, to elect an Alderman of the Ward, in the room of Noblet Phillips, Esq., dec.; It., that a piece of plate, value 30 gs., be presented to Mr. Burgess Browne, as a public testimony of the many services by him done for the Corporation, with the following l:qscription : " This Piece of Plate was, in the year 1777, presented by the Mayor, Sheriffs, Common Council and Commonalty of the City of Corke to Thomas Browne, Esq., one of the Burgesses, and also one of the Common Council of the said City, as a Pu blick Testimony of the many services by him done for the Corporation of the said City, for a long series of years past, in settling the
