Ordered, that an address to his Majesty in the na.ine of the Mayor; Sheriffs, Merchants, Traders, and Inhabitants of Corke, declaring our )( a"bhorr_ence of the American Rebellio,n, and OlJ.r r_esolution to support H. M.'s persen and Government, as well against American Insurgents as other enemies, be sent to our Rep.'s in Parliament to be handed to His Excell. the Lo.-Lieut. · It., that a Memorial in the na~e of the Mayor, &c., be presented to His Excellency, praying that two Lighthouses may be erected at the entrance of the Harbour of Cork, !or the sa:fety of the trade of this City, to be sent to our Representatives in Parliament. This day Ald. Maylar, Mr. Browne, Wrixon, Harding, .and Fuller report that they have examined the Chamberlain's ac~ounts to 29 Sep. last, and that the sum of £165 15s. lid. is due from him to the Corporation. )( Ordered, that Mr. Kent do buy 100 Barrels of Coal for the Corporation. We approve of James Simmons to be Dep. Waterbailiff of the City of COL·ke. That Joseph Bennett Wakeham, gent., eldest son of WHim. W., gerit., dec., and Rowland Jackson Connor, apothecary, having served John Wad- dington, do., be admitted free. Present--Mr. Mayor, Sher. Lawton and Westropp; Alden. Westropp, Bury, Wetherall, Maylor, Baker, Roe, Wrixon, Franklin, Travers, Webb; Mr. Browne, and Izod. 8 May, 1776. Ordered, that 3 guineas be paid Mr. Burgess Browne for painting the Corporation Gallery in S. l\1ary Shandon.
