BRIDGE ACROSS TilE NORTH CHA~~EL OF THE LEE.

Resolved, that a second Bridge over the North branch of the river Lee is necessary, and will be of public service to this City. It., that the proper place for said Bridge will be from Baldwin's corner to Exham's cellars. It., that the merchants of this City do-return ten gentlemen, five to be approved by this Board, to join in carrying into Execution the scheme for building the Bridge. Present-Mr. Mayor, Sher. Berry and Carleton; Alden. Newman, Wes- tropp, Millerd, Philpott, Bury, Wrixon, Maylor, Baker, Webb, Roe; Air. Browne, Denroch, and Izod. 3 Dec., 1773. The Merchants of Cork, in pursuance to the order of last Council, having returned ten names, five to be approved by tlus Board, to join in the scheme for building the Bridge over the North Channel of the Lee, do approve of the following five gentlemen, . to wit, Mr. Greatrakes Smyth, Mr. Paul Benson, Mr. Thomas Trant, Mr. William Jameson, and Mr. Humphry Crowly. Resolved, that for building said Bridge application be made to Parliament for local taxes, part of which shall go to the support of the Work House and part for openit?-g ways and passages and erecting Public Buildings. Present-Mr. Mayor, Sher. Berry; Alden. lfillerd, Philpott, Franklin, Smith, Maylor, Baker, Roe ; Mr. Browne, Denroch, and Izod. 8 Dec., 1773. Ordered, that Mr. Snowe do prepare a memorial to the House of Commons praying an act for local duties for 21 years to be applied as follows : one third for the use of the Workhouse, one third for building a Bridge across the North channel of the river Lee, one third for opening_ ways and passages and erecting public Buildings, and after the Bridge be completed, said third to be for the use of the Workhouse to be paid the Gov.ernors, the part for building the Bridge to be paid to Saml. Maylor,.John Webb, Kingsmill Berry, Esq., Stephen Denroch, Kevan lzod, Greatrakes Smyth, Paul Benson, Willm. Jameson, Humphry Crawly, and Thomas Trant, merchts., the part for erecting public buildings, &c., to be paid to the Mayor, Sheriffs, &c., with the third part for building the Bridge after the completion thereof. 112
