Y Whereas the Mayor has received a letter from the Prime Sargeant, dated 1 ~ Jan. inst., enclosing the heads of an intended PoperyBill for giving them liberty of building in cities and towns corporate and desiring their instruc- tion. It is the opinion of this Council that the answer this day written by the 1\fayor and produced is a proper one. Ordered, that 200 guineas be paid the Committee of Merchants of this City, for regulating of trade and preventing all unlawful combinations of journeymen, tradesmen, &c., and prosecuting all such concerned in riots and meetings detrimental to the peace and trade of this City. It., that £27 16s. 4d. be paid Ald. Westropp, Master of the Blue Coat Hospital, balance of his account to 4 Dec., 1771, to be accounted for on the loan, &c.; It., that £39 7s. 3d. be paid Richard Gwinn, for tyler work done, sworn before Ald. Bury, and certified by Sober Kent, City Overseer; It., £58 8s. 9!d. to Richard Burt, glazier, for work done. Present-Mr. Mayor, Sher. Puxley ; Alden.
