MEMORIAL TO THE LORDS JUSTICES FOR ADDITIONAL FORCES.

Ordered, that Falkiner's Journal, the English Votes, and London Gazette be discontinued from 29 Sep. next. That £50 3s. 9d. be paid Mess. Robt. and John Wrixon for flag-stones; It., £28 19s. 8d. to Mess. Samuel and George Beale in full for their account ; It., £78 lls. 4d. to Mr. Wm. ·Snowe for law business; It., £91 6s. ld. to Anthony Lane, Esq., his bill of costs. Ordered, that no m~ney shall be passed on the Council day it is brought in, but remain in the Town Clerk's office until_next Council day, and that a Committee be appointed to examine same and report. This board being of opinion that there is not a sufficient number of the army in this City to do the duty; ordered, that a Memorial in the name of the Mayor, &c., be sent to the Lords Justices praying for additional forces. Present-Mr. Mayor, Sher. Harding; Alden. Jackson, Owgan, W estropp, Millerd, Wrixon, Philpott, Franklin, J. Wri.xon, J. Smith, and Mr. Browne. 29 Aug., 1767. Ordered, that the Gateage tolls (except the custom of turf, furze, linen, and linen yarn), North and South Milk Market dues, ~orn Market dues, &c., be set to the highest bidder (terms as before). That a sallary of £60 for one year be paid the Waterbaillif (duty as before). That Sober Kent, mer., at the request of the Mayor; Adam Newman, gent:;- -N'at~i Payne, gent.; Jame.s Kingston, mer., having served Hugh Lawton; Hugh Lawton, jun., mer., having served Hugh Lawton, Esq.; Richard Hare, jun., mer., having served his uncle, Richard Hare., mer. ; and Noblet Flemming, glazier, having served Richard Burtt, do., be admitted free. Ordered, that £5 4s. ld. be paid in addition to the £20 for the entertain- ment at Blackrock; It., £3 12s. 6id. to Mr. Mayor for supporting John Nash (who prosecuted the soldiers at the last assizes) whilst in Bridewell and other charges ; It .. 10 guineas to the persons hereafter named for pro- secuting the three soldiers at the last assizes, viz., to Luke Pritty 6 guineas; James Bate, Sarjt.; Robt. Taylor, Sarjt.; Richd. Sargent, corporal, and Robt. Wilson, soldier, 65 Reg. of foot, one guinea each; It., two guineas to Murtho Connor for his trouble in summoning applotters and constables.
