816 MR. DAVIS DUKART'S ESTDIATE FOR THE COST OF THE MAYORALTY HOUSE.

exceeding £20.00 should be expended in carrying it out, and that Dukart should be employed to execute it, to be allowed 5 per cent. on the money laid out, the committee reserving a power to make said Dukart a further gratuity if they should think fit ; and said Board is of opinion that Dukart was not at liberty to expend any further sum than £2000, and he is not entitled to any more recompense for his trouble than 5 per cent. on £2000, as it hath been reported to this board by a gentlemen of said Committee that Dukart did not give due attendance to the building of said Mayoralty House, whereby the Masons and Carpenters were often idle for want of his being in Corke to give them directions, that a larger sum than £2000 hath been expended, and the :same is not finished ; and this Board is of opinion that Dukart when he gave the plan was conscious that it would cost much more, and . that his estimate was to induce said Committee to go .on with the plan. Ordered, that the two bonds passed by this Corporation to Mr. S. Denroch, both amounting to £550, be taken up, and that the said sum be added to the sum of £450, and that a bond be executed to Denroch for £1000, with interest at 5 per cent. It., that £14 7s. 6d. be paid Mrs. Esther Holmes for clothing for the Blue Coats and Exchange Porter. It., 5 guineas to Rev<'. Michl. Tisdal for as many sermons; It., 2 guineas to Councillor Verling for drawing a memorial to the Government. Presen.t-Mr. Mayor, Sher. Travers; Alden. Whereas by .Act of Parliament made 6 of His MajY8. reign, the Mayor, &c., of Corke are empowered to grant under the Common Seal any share or dividend of the profits arising from the reservoirs, canals, trenches, water- courses, pipes, and water to be erected for conveying and supplying said City.with water, to such freemen at large and their execrs. for such term of years as the Mayor, &c., by their order confirmed by the C. D. H., shall appoint, such freemen to whom such share, &c., shall be so granted cove- nanting for him and his heirs, &c., with the Mayor, &c., to pay a propor- tionable part of the expense attending the making, digging, cutting, &c., of said reservoirs, canals, &c., Now we, _the Mayor, &c., do hereby appoint one
