OVERSEERS OF THE BUILDING OF THE MAYORALTY HOUSE.

Franklin, J. Wrixon and Swete, be a committee to state the Chamberlain's accounts from 29 Sep., 1765, to 29 Sep. last. That £11 be paid the Coroners for as many inquests, from 26 Oct., 1765, to this date, and that any inquest hereafter held by the Coroners shall not be paid out of the Corporation revenues; It., £18 8s. 10d. to Wm. Reynolds, silversmith, for work done from 28 Dec., 1765, to 19 Dec. last; It., £16 2s. 10d. to Roger Ouldin, for mason's work. That Ebenezer Sargent buy six barrels of coal for the Corporation. That James Gregg, gent., having served Wm. Snowe, gent., be admitted free. Present-Mr. Mayor, Sher. Travers and Harding; Alden. Owgan, Wes- tropp, Wrixon, Busteed, Philpotts, Bury, Wetherall, J. Wrixon, Franklin, and Mr. Browne. 18 May, 1767. ~ Ordered, that Capt. Edw". Hawke, son to the Rt.' Hon. Sir Edw". Hawke, Bart., K.B., be presented with his fr~edom in a Silver box, as a testimony and in gratitude for the many signal services done by his father, in particu- lar his defeating the Fleet under the command of Monsieur Conflans, which was intended to invade this Kingdom. Carleton, and Denroch, appointed to examine tha accounts of the gentle- men appointed to oversee the building of the Mayoralty House, report, that on a strict examination of the accounts produced by Henry Wrixon and William Butler, Esqrs., they have fairly expended to 5 May inst. the sum of £2822 Os. ld., for which they produced vouchers. And that they had received the sum of £2900 from Francis Carleton, Chamberlain, and that a ballance of £77 19s. lld. remains on their hands for carrying on said building; and also that £739 3s.10id. remains due to James and Ebenezer
