MR. PITT'S STATUE TO BE ERECTED IN THE EXCHANGE.
paid 18 shillings for ligh6ng, clennsing, trimming, snuffing, and maintaining each lamp for the said time. That £20 be paid Mr. Mayor for providing an entertainment at Black- rock Castle on 1 .Aug. next. That Mr. John Lawton be at liberty to add to his quay from the river, from the North corner of Parliament Bridge down to the quay of Messrs. Lane, Vaughan, and Benson, agreeable to the plan laid before the Council. That £18 13s. 4d. be paid Mrs. Esther Holmes for clothes supplied the Bellmen and Exchange Porter in Sep. last. It., £3 15s. 10d. to George Busteed, printer, for work done. That Thomas Wagget, merch t., having served his father, William W agget, do., be admitted free. C> Ordered, that Mr. Pitt's statue be erected in the Exchange, in a nitch to be made where the clock stands. Present-Mr. Mayor, Sher. Willcocks ; .Alden. Jackson, Parker, Westropp, W rixon, Busteed, Bury, J. Wrixon, Franklin, J. Smith ; Mr. Denroch, and Mr. C. S. 6 Aug., 1766. The Sheriffs. not attending the Mayor was obliged to break up.-Wm. Snowe, Dep. Clk. of Council. Present-Mr. Mayor; .Alden. Westropp, Busteed, and several others of the Council. [sic.] 7 Aug., 1766. Whereas the following sums are due to the Corporation on bonds passed to the Chamberlain, to wit, £45 from Martha Shea, Wm. Callahan, and John Ward on their two bonds ; £17 9s. from Wm. Bryen, Wm: ~ennett, and Timothy McCarthy on their two bonds, and as some of said persons are dead and the rest have failed in their circumstances, it is ordered, that the Chamberlain take credit for said sums, to prevent same being carried on in his books.
