12 July, 1766. Ordered, that £500 be borrowed at interest towards the building of a 1\fayoralty House. Present-Mr. 1\!ayor, Sher. Rowland and Wilcocks; Alden. Owgan, Wes- tropp, Wri."'{on, Busteed, Swete, Bury, Franklin, Philpot, and Mr. Browne. 23 July, 1766. This day Mr. Stephen Denroch, Burgess, was elected one of the Common Council men in the room of Boyle Travers, Esq., dec.; same day Mr. Mayor, Sher. Willcocks, Alden. Westropp, Wrixon, Philpott, Bury, and Mr. Kevan Izod report, that they examined the Chamberlain's accounts and find a ballance of .£344 38. Bid. due the Corporation. • Ordered, that Mr. Francis Carleton, Chamberlain, employ a proper person to recover all rent, &c., due to the Corporation. That Jeffery Piersy, mcrcht., having served James Piersy, do., dec., and Peter Morgan, mercht., having served Jonathan Morgan, do., be admitted free. That two guineas be paid Mortogh Connor for summoning different com- mittees, and .£21 08. Sd. to Timothy Hughes for iron hoops for the coal ban·els, and mending same from 20 Feb., 1764, to 25 March, 1766. Present-Mr. Mayor, Sher. Rowland and Willcocks; Alden. Jackson, Owgan, Westropp, R.
