796 APPLICATION TO PARLIAMENT FOR MONEY TO REBUILD S. PETER'S CHURCH.

lately paid by Sr. Robt. Deane, to him handed over by Sampson Towgood, Esq. That an application be made to Government to direct an embargo to h~ laid on the exportation of oaten meal, oats, and potatoes from this City to. 1 Aug. next, as a scarcity of them is apprehended. That £36 15s. 6!d. be paid Mr. Nicholas Wrixon, AttY., for law business, and £16 ls. 2d., his bill of costs for the recovery of the legacy left by Moses Deane, Esq. ; It., £9 5s. 9!d. to Nich. Fitton, founder, for work done ; It., £3 to the Sheriffs, to be distributed to such persons as were instrumental in suppressing a late mob. Present-Mr. Mayor, Sher. Rowland and Willcocks ; .Alden. Jackson, Parker, Owgan, Westropp, Millerd, Wrixon, Busteed, Philpott, Swete, Bury, · W etherall, John Smith, and C. Denroch, C. S. 25 Oct., 1765. That His Excell. Francis, Earl of Hertford, Ld. ' That an application be made to Parliament this Session in the name of the Mayor, &c., for the sum of £2000 for rebuilding S. Peter's Church, which is now very ruinous, and the parishioners not able to rebuild same; also an application for £3000 for purchasing two front houses to the Main Street, and the houses in said Peter's Church lane, to the opening a conve- nient passage to S. Peter's Church, and also to Haman's Marsh and Pike's Marsh, whereon several merchants reside and carry on a considerable trade. The Corporation having already expended large sums of money in opening passages in said City, and thereby disenabled to purchase said front houses and houses in the lane. Present-Mr. Mayor, Sher. Rowland; Alden. Jackson, Newman, Parker' Owgan, Millerd, Philpott, Swete, Bury, John Wrixon, and John Smith. 1 Nov., 1765. That the Rt. Hon. Lord Beauchamp, eldest son, and Principal Sec. to the Lo. Lieut., be presented with his freedom in a Silver Box. That £69 3s. 4d. be paid Ald. Westropp, Master of tlie Blue Coat Hospital, so mu.ch expended by him in the management of said Hospital to 24 Oct.,
