Wrixon, Busteed, Philpott, Bury, Franklin, John Wrixon, and Wetherall. 24 Nov., 1764. This day Anthony Lane, Esq., was unanimously elected Not. Pub. Clerk of the Crown and Peace for the City and County of the City of Cork, in the room of Robt. Hoare, Esq., dec., to hold during his good behaviour. This day said .AnthY. Lane was unanimously elected Clerk of the Council in the room of said Robt. Hoare, dec., and sworn to keep the secrets of the Council. Ordered, that a C. D. H. be held for the City and Co. of the City of Corke on Monday, 3 Dec., to elect a Town Clerk or Common Clerk for this City and Co. in the room of said Robt. Hoare. That £1 13s. 7d. be paid Richd. Evans, Exchange Porter, in full. Present--Mr. Mayor, Sher. Wrixon ; .Alden. Atkins, Jackson, Westropp, Robt. Wrixon, Busteed, Smith, Wetherall, John Wrixon, Newman, Franklin, Bury, Parker, and Philpott. 13 Dec., 1764. Whereas at Oct. Sessions, 1764, Cornelius Casey, journeyman cooper, was tryed and convicted for permitting several journeymen Coopers to assemble -' at his house to make certain rules, &c., of their own, which rules are con- 'X trary to the statute in that case provided, and highly detrimental to the I • trade of this City. Therefore the Mayor, &c., do offer a reward of £50 to any person who within six months shall lodge said Casey in any of His MajYs. gaols in this kingdom. Ordered, that 25 guineas be paid ~Ir. Kevan Izod, being the Corporation's proportion of their first payment towards the watering of this City. That James Power, shipwright, having served William Evans, do., be admitted free.
