A RIOTOUS MOD IN THE CITY WITH DRUMS AND TRUMPETS.

Whereas Mr. Mayor received a letter from Rt. Hon. Will. Gerrard Hamil- ton, Esq., Sec. to the Lord Lieut., dated Dublin Castle, 8 March inst., setting forth that his Excellency received information upon oath that a riotous mob to the amount of 500 and upwards had assembled 27 Feb. last, in the City of Corke, and with drums beating and trumpets sounding, marched through several parts of the City, threatening the lives of the persons appointed to collect the subsidies of alnage, and vowing a resolution to oppose the pay- ment of that part of his Maj. revenue. Now we, the Mayor, &c., to discover said offenders, offer a reward of 50 guineas to such as within six months shall prosecute to conviction any one or more of said offenders ; and that Mr. Mayor do write to the Seer., setting forth that the Council has published a Proclamation, and that the Justices of the Peace, &c., will exert themselves to quell all riotous assemblies in the City, and that the persons appointed to collect the alnage have not offered to give any information against the offenders of 27 Feb. last. · Present - Mr. Mayor, Sher.
