24 Feb., 1762. Ordered, that £400 be paid Mr. Nich. Wrixon, to pay the fees of the several Acts of Parliament applied for by this Corporation this Session, same to be accounted for by said Wrixon; It., £7 11s. to Andrew Coleman, tyler, for work done. Present-~fr. ~fayor, Sher. Fitton; Alden. Jackson, Parker, Crone, Wrixon, Busteed, Reily, Harding, Swete, Philpott, and Clark, C. S. 10 March, 1762. Ordered, that the Right Ron. Rich d. Ashton, Lord Chief Justice, and one of the Justices of Assize, be presented with his freedom in a Silver box. That Robt. Nash, mercht., having served Thomas Beare, mercht., and Harmer Delahoide, and Ebenezer Morrison, mercht., be admitted free- at large. That Ald. Busteed buy twelve Coal-barrels and get the old ones repaired. That £5 4s. 4d. be paid Ald. Harding for gunpowder, &c., for the late Fireworks in this City. Present--Mr. Mayor, both Sheriffs; Alden. Jackson, Owgan, Westropp, Crone, Busteed, Reily, Harding, Philpott, Bury, W etherall, and Mr. Clarke, c. s. 5 April, 1762.

Whereas it has been strongly recommended by the Government to the Mayor, &c., to be active in repressing t.he riotous assemblies of people now convened in many parts of this Kingdom. The better to enable the Magis- trates of this City to perform their duty, It is recommended by this board that the Protestant inhabitants shall wear swords, to be in a condition to assist the 1\!agistrates, and to seize and arrest any persons whom they may hear or see speaking or acting offensively to the peace and government of this Kingdom or City, and that the Protestant inhabitants of this City do keep their Fire-arms in their houses in good order and condition. That the Protestant inhabitants of the several parishes shall forthwith deliver in a list of their names to the different clergymen, who are to deliver them to the 1\Iayor, that they may attend at the Market House, there to exercise with the arms in the Armory, under the inspection of a Justice of the Peace, and that proper persons attend to instruct them.
