Hoare and Knapp, representatives of this City, got themselves by Act of Parliament appointed Weighmasters, and that the Corporation will apply all the profits of the office to the use of the Work- house of this City. That Francis Carleton, Esq., do accept a bill of Exchange drawn by Mr. James Benson on him at 31 days date for .£80 128. 6d., cost of a Gold Box, in which the Lord Lieut. was presented with his freedom of this City. Ordered, that .£11 78. 6d. be paid Mr. Mayor, to enable him to punish and send away from this City all foreign beggars and strollers that in Y great numbers come from the country and other towns and infest this City/· l and to prevent several shocking objects as daily appear in the public streets, to the great offence of the inhabitants and public. Present--Mr. Mayor, Sher. Fitton and Momson; Aid•. Owgan, W estropp, Crone, Harding, Philpott, Bury, W etherall, and Clark, C. S. 19 Jan., 1762. Mr. Hoare having received a letter from Mr. Nich. Wrixon, Corporation Agent in Dublin, that .£60 were necessary to be remitted to him, towards paying the fees of the Act applied for this Session, ordered, that it be paid.
