Thresher, dec., for £250, legacy 'of Thresher left to the ~Iayor, &c., interest for an occasional sermon every month in the parish Church of S. }fary Shandon, or such other church as the Lord Bishop shall appoint. That £106 4s. be paid Ald. Hodder for gold and silversmith's work supplied for the use of the Corporation from 2 Sep., 1758, to 6 May, inst. ; also £15 1s. 6~d. to Timothy Hughes for iron work. That the Exchange slip late1y covered be converted into a shop with a trap door to go down to the water, and that same, when finished, be set for one year by public cant, and that three keys be provided to the door of said shop, one for the tenant, the other two to be deposited where the Mayor shall appoint, so that recourse may be had to the water in case of any acci- dental fire in the neighbourhood of said slip. That £7 1 Os. 2!d. be paid Ebenezer Sargent, City Overseer, expended by him in repairing the Exchange slip, the grate in the main street, the coal- hole door, and the door of the house where the Corporation tools are kept. That Mr. Mayor, Sher. Francklin and Connor, Alden. Wrixon, Philpott, Harding, and Busteed, be a committee to look out for a proper place to build a Mayoralty house, and report. That £6 16s. 6d. be paid Mr. Wm. Snowe, Dep. Clk. of the Crown, his expenses in prosecuting several nuisances last assizes. Present--Mr. Mayor, Sher. Connor ; Alden. W estropp, Millerd, Taylor, Crone, Wrixon, Reily, Harding, Philpott, Swete, Hodder, and Shadwell, C. S. 4 June, 1760. That a pension of £20 a year be paid the widow of Ald. Holmes during her widowhood, and £21 12s. Old. be paid Mrs. Esther Holmes for clothes supplied the Exchange Porter and Bell man, and a cap for the Swordbearer. Present-Mr. Mayor, both Sheriffs; Alden. Jackson, Parker, Taylor, Smith, Wrixon, Crone, Busteed, Reily, Harding, Philpott, and Swete. 14 July, 1760. + That £20 be paid Mr. Mayor for an entertainment at Blackrock Castle~ ~ That Edmd. Malone, Esq., one of the Justices of Assize for the Munster Circuit, be presented on his arrival with his freedom in a Silver box.
