OFFICERS PRESENTED "WITH THEIR FREEDOMS.
Present-Mr. Mayor, both Sheriffs; Alden. Jackson, Owgan, Westropp, Crone, Wrixon, Reily, Philpott, and Mr. Shadwell, C. S. 7 March, 1760. Ordered, that Alden. Westropp, Harding, Busteed, and Swete, and such as the C. D. H. shall appoint, be a Committee for settling public accounts to 29 Sep. last. Whereas the Committee appointed by the Council and C. D. H. for erecting an organ in Christ Church have agreed with Ferdinand Webber, of the City of Dublin, organ builder, for erecting a complete organ for £482 158., ordered, that said sum be paid to enable the Committee to fulfil their agree- ment. That Michrel Roberts Westropp, mercht., having served his father, Ald. Westropp, be admitted free at large; also that Captains Elliot, Clements, and Logie, of H. M. Frigates the Eolus, Pallas, and Brilliant, be presented with their Freedoms in Silver boxes, for their gallant behaviour in pursuing, attacking, and defeating the French squadron commanded by M. Thurot, who had the rashness to land some troops at Carrigfergus, and ravage part of the country. That £5 58. be paid Simon Curtain for repairing the City Clock ; also £55 58. 5!d. to Robert Hoare, Esq., his bill of costs; also £63 188. 7d. to Wm. Snowe, Not. Pub., for law business from 1 Feb., 1759, to 8 Feb., 1760. That John Bury, Esq., brother to the Mayor ; Richard Garde, merch t., having served Joseph and John Deyos; Sam 1• Rowland, mercht., having served his father, Richard Rowland; James Guitton, chandler, having served Isaac Bussy; Fenton Addis, Esq., Council-at-Law; and Twogood . French, Esq., Counc.-at-Law, be admitted freemen at large. That £12 11s. 7d. be paid for repairing the root market, &c. Present--Mr. Mayor, Sher. Franklin; Alden. Jackson, Owgan, Westropp, Crone, Busteed, Hodder, Reily, Philpott, Swete, and Harding. 21 April, 1760. That 20s. 3d. be paid Francis Evans, Change Porter, for brooms, &c. ; also £86 9s. 11d. to Mr. Nich 8 • Wrixon, attorney, his bill of costs for re~ ducing several fines imposed on several former Sheriffs of this City in the Exchequer, for not paying into said Court divers sums of money that they
