AN EQUESTRLL~ STATUE OF HIS MAJESTY TO BE ERECTED.
That Edmond Sexton Pery, Esq., M.P., be presented with his freedom in a Silver box. That £11 7s. 6d. be paid 1\{r. Mayor to punish foreign beggars, that in - great numbers infest this City. r-- That Mr. 1\Iayor sign a receipt for £72 English, due from the Vintners' Company of London to Skiddie's Alms house 29 Sep. last, and that Mr. l\Iayor give the receipt to Francis Carleton, Esq., agent for said Alms house. That Francis Carleton, Esq., apply to the Execrs. of Richd. Taylor, Esq., dec., for £40, being eight years' rent of the houses opposite the Corn Market, due to said Alms house 29 Sep. last. Present-- Mr. 1\Iayor, both Sheriffs ; AlJen. Jackson, Newman, Owgan, Westropp, Crone, Wrixon; 1\fr. Shadwell, C. S.; Ald. Reily, Winthrop, and Bus teed. 15 Jan., 1760, no business for want of a sufficient number.-Wm. Snowe, Clk:. of Council Present--1\fr. Mayor, Sher. Connor, Ald. Jackson, Owgan, Westropp, Crone, Wrixon, Reily, Harding, Philpott, and Mr. Shadwell, C. S. 16 Jan., 1760. The Council having come to an agreement with Doctor Tuckey for the ground on which thirteen houses are built on the north side of Tuckey's lane, beginning at the main street and ending at the East side of Timothy Fitzgerald~s house in said lane, and ranging close to the north wall belong- ing to said Tuckey, and which North Wall adjoins Gillman's lane and is to remain the property of said Tuckey and his heirs 1 and that said Tuckey shall at his own expense pull down said houses and remove the rubbish on or before 1st. Nov., 1761, and that the Corporation is to pay said Tuckey £1,000 for said ground in manner following, to wit, £500 on the execution of proper deeds of conveyance, the other £500 in six months afterwards, interest free. That the bell in the City Court House, which is cracked, be taken down and exchanged with Nicholas Fitton, founder, for a new bell, allowing said Fitton six pence in the pound profit on the exchange. That £100 be paid Thos. Newenham, Esq., as soon as an Equestrian .X statue of His Majesty shall be erected in this City, pursuant to a plan laid .. before the Council, provided same be erected in a place to be appointed by the Council · 92-2
