that the public money appointed to be raised at said Assizes shall by them, or any seven of them, be applotted on the several houses and lands in this City, suburbs, and liberties, and that said applotters shall, under a penalty, be compelled to take an oath before the Mayor impartially to make such applotment, and they shall meet and applot such public money in three months from the first day of each Assizes, and that a warrant signed by seven of them shall be sufficient to the constables to destrain for same, &c. That an application be made to Parliament that all straw exposed for sale in this City and suburbs shall be made up in bundles of seven pounds weight, under a penalty of forfeiture of said straw. That Mr. Hoare give instructions to our representatives to apply for a renewal of the Lamp Act, and that an amendment be made that no applot- ment or any house shall exceed twelve shillings, nor be less than one shilling, and that no lamp be at a greater distance than 22 yards from the next lamp on the same side of the street; and in lanes, courts, alleys, &c., no lamp shall be at a greater distance than 33 yards from next lamp on same side, and that the parish of S. Finbarry's and suburbs be under same regulation. Present--Mr. Mayor, Sher. Franklin; Alden. Jackson, Owgan, Westropp, Crone, Wrixon, Busteed, Reily, Harding, Philpott, and Mr. Shadwell, C. That £10 13s. ld. be paid Mary Harrison, for printing work done in the .~:· Mayoralty of Ald. Philpot and Swcte; also £11 13s. to Kean Mahony, )\ Vintner, for an entertainment at the Exchange, to celebrate the glorious victory of Admiral Hawke over the French fleet. { That Admiral Hawke be presented with his freedom in a Gold box for his great services in defeating the French fleet commanded by Mons. Cou- flans, whereby this City was saved from an attack of a large body of French forces.
