That £7 be paid the Revd. Michl~ Tisdal, for fitting up a proper place in the City gaol for the performance of Divine Service, and providing forms to sit on. Whereas it is found expedient forthwith to array the Militia of this City, ordered, that the expenses of providing Powder, Ball, Flints, &c., be paid out of the Corporation revenues. Present- Mr. Mayor, both Sheriffs ; Alden. Atkins, Farren, Jackson, Fuller, Newman, Westropp, Crone, Reily, Philpott, and J. Shadwell, C. S. 1 Aug., 1759. That the Right Hon. Edwd. Willis, Lord Chief Baron of His Maj. Court of Exchequer, and the Hon. Wm. Scott, one of the Justices of the King's Rench for the Munster Circuit, and Councillor French, M.P. for co. Gal- way, be presented with their freedoms at large in Silver boxes. That a .Memorial be sent to the Government, to have a proper Guard mounted in this City, for the protection of the King's Peace. Tlus day Mr. Mayor Elect took the oath of Secrecy. Present-Mr. Mayor, Sher. Parks; Alden. Jackson, Westropp, Wrixon, Busteed, Philpott, Hodder, Farren, and Crone. 28 Aug., 1759. That the Gateage, Tolls, Waterbailiff's employment, Fish Market dues, Corn Market dues, and North and South Milk Market dues, be set by public cant to the highest bidder. That £47 16s. 6d. be paid Wm. Busteed, Esq., Waterbailiff, for anchorage and ballast money not received by him from several Transports and Col- liers who anchored in t}M, Harbour of Cork, from Michs., 1755, to present time, and who refused to pay him for their anchoring and ballast; also £14 5s. to Andrew Dalton, for Carpenter's work; also £12 168. to Mr. John Smith, for Ale for the use of the Army, by order of Mr. Mayor, from ~ Nov., 1758, to June, 1759. That Mr. Wm. Fitton, brewer, be admitted a freeman at large of this City. That £3 128. 7td. be paid Ebenezer Sargeant, for making good the !H
