the Chamberlain's hands, being so much suffered by him on the lease he took from the Corporation of the tolls of the North Milk Market ; that £G7 188. 3d. be paid Wm. Snowe, for AttY. and Not. Pub. business from July, 1754, to 29 Sep., 1755; tbat .£1168. 11id._ be paid Thomas Clements, for mason work ; also - .£3 88. 5d. to Mrs. Martha Pilkington, for printing work done in the Mayoralty of Ald. Reily. That Thos. Collis, mercht., having served Noblet Johnson; Walter Kelly, gent., having served Saml. Slocomb, dec. ; wm. Snowe,_gent. ; and William Fuller, mercht., be admitted freemen at large. That Mr. Mayor be paid .£20, for an entertainment at Blackrock Castle 1 Aug. Mr. Hoare having reported that he laid the case with regard to quarterage before the Recorder, Councillors Weeks, N ewenham, Crone, Crips, Verling, and Dring, that said lawyers met on a Consultation, and are of opinion that one or more new bye-law or bye-laws are necessary to. be made by the Cor- poration for regulating said quarterage~ ordered, that Mr. Hoare employ said lawyers to draw a proper draft of such bye-law or bye-laws. That the Gateage tolls, Waterbailiff's employment, Fish Market dues, Com Market dues, North Milk Market du-es, South Milk Market dues, and Petty customs of this City be set by public cant on the Exchange to the highest bidder for one year. Y That .£65 198. 5!d. be paid Ald. Hodder for seventeen silvet boxes and one Gold one. Whereas a Memorial was presented to the Council, signed: by some of the Inhabitants, praying that the present Bridewell should be conve1ted to a Fish market, and that a Bridewell should be built on the ground taken from Ald. Reily, It appears to the Council that said Bridewell was built by presentment of the Grand Jury of the Co. of said City, and that the money was levied on the Inhabitants of this City, and therefore the Corporation hath no property therein, and further, that the ground taken from Ald. Reily is expressly mentioned in the lease to be for building a Fish Market, ordered, that the former plan be carried into execution. Present-Mr. Mayor, both Sheriffs; Alden.
