That £4 18s. 9d. be paid !vir. l\1ayor, so much expended by him last May day in quelling several riots. 1 That George Furze, cooper, having served George Crofts, do.; Mathias, eldest son of Christ. Earbery, Esq. ; Cornelius Callaghan, Esq., be admitted freemen at large, and John Smith, Esq., one of his Maj. Council at law, be presented with his freedom in a Silver box. The following tolls to be set by cant: 22 Sep. the Waterbailiff's employ- ment, 23 inst., the tolls of the Corn market, 24 inst., the tolls of the Fish market, 25 inst., the tolls of the North and South Milk Market. That Mr. Mayor, AlJen. Lavit, Wrixon, Dusteed, and Mr. Travers be a committee for repairing Blackrock Castle. That the stalls in the North and South Flesh market be set as the stalls in the English Shambles have been set. Present-:Mr. Mayor, both Sheriffs; Alden. Austin, Croker, Jackson, Farren,. Owgan, Lavit, Taylor, Wl'ixon, Busteed, Crone, Rol}. Travers, Esq., (afterwards) Ald. Smith. 20 Oct., 1756. William Harding, Esq., Mayor. This day Mr. Mayor was sworn a Council man, also Mr. Sheriff Roe. That the Mayor, &c., execute a bond to the Government for the safe keeping of such arms as shall be given for the use of the Militia of this .City, and for their return when required. ·. That Coi. Fitz Wi.Iliams Com~anding officer of this district, be presented with his freedom in a Silver box, for his good conduct in regulating the large body of ..Forces quartered in this City, for embarkation, whereby no disturbances have happened therein.
