lease on paying the Chamberlain one quarter part of such rent, and two responsiLle securities for remainder, subject to the following: llY. That all persons, now free, or who shall hereafter become free, shall be exempted from payment of Gateage, according to usage; 21Y. That no fraudulent act of any person now free shall be deemed an infringement of such lease ; 31Y. That all persons now or hereafter to be free of this City may free their corn, hiues, tallow, carcases of beef, pork, butter, &c., which they bought or at,rreeu for before ~uch goods left the place of their growth or manufacture, and all goods consigned, whereon they shall bona fide receive a commiRsion of £2 1 Os. per cent., and that such farmer shall take pledges for such goods, and the freeman shall have 4 days allowed him for redeeming same in the manner in use before said gateage was set to Hugh Norcot.t, the present Farmer, provided the quantity be written in letters by the proper hand of the Freeman who intends to free same; 41Y. That every cast of one hundred pounds weight of meat and butter, &c., shall pay a Toll of l!d., and if lesser quantity of butter, ~d., and that no toll be paid for worsted or yarn coming into the City, provided it be made of wool; 5ly. If the rent be behind three days said lease shall be void. The Waterbailiff's employment, the highest bidder to have a lease for one year, he executing bonds payable quarterly, with two solvent securities, the lessor to collect the Chief Magistrate's dues and attend the Corporation with the Silver Oar. The Corn Market tolls (same securities). The Tolls of the Fish Market (same securities). The tolls arising from the North and South Milk Mar- kets. The petty Customs of the City. Ordered, that Thos. Allen, mercht., having served Messrs. Robt. and John W rixon ; Francis Roberts, having served Ald. Randall Westropp ; Christ. Collis, having served John Lawton, mercht.; Nassau Roe, having served Alu. Westropp and Co.; Edwd. Kellett, having served John Lawton, mercht.; Thomas, eldest son of Frans. Roche, clothier; Christ. Johnson, butcher, having served Robt. Long, Victualler; Sampson, eldest son of Francis Austin, eke., be admitted freemen at large of this City. That the Committee who stated Mr. Hopkin's accts. examine whether credit bas been given him for certain vouchers produced by him in the C. D. H., for which he alledgeth he has not credit.
