ANNUITY DUE FROM THE VINTNERS' COMPANY 011' LONDON.

14 Jan. 1750. All orders of Council for payment of money from 28 Feb., 1744 to 19 July, 1750 inclusive, amounts to £1595 7s. lid. Present-Mr. Mayor, Sher. N ewenham, Mr. Recorder; Alden. Atkins, Millerd, Croker, Owgan, Lavit, Crone, and Holmes. 4 April, 1751. Whereas by an order of Council, 26 March, 1741, the sum of £10 per week for ten weeks from 18 of same month, should be paid Mr. Carre, Treas., for feeding the poor of this City. It now appears that Mr. Russell Wood signed an order for same £100, which not being paid by the Cham-. berlain to Mr. Carre, but Mr. John Maunsell advanced said sum to Mr. Carre on credit of the City out of the funds of Skiddy's and Bretridge's Almshouses. Ordered, that same £100 be paid Mr. Maunsell to pay said sum advanced to Mr. Aug. Carre, and said Maunsell return the order of Council payable to Carre on getting an order for the sum now granted. That Ald. Millerd, Taylor, and Mr, Robt. Dring allow a receipt of Mr• .Aug. Carre to Mr. John Maunsell for £50 17s. 7d., which Carre received from the Vintners' Society of London. That Mr. Mayor draw for £144 English six years' annuity due from the Vintners' Comp. of London, for Skiddy's Almshouse, at £24 a year, and that Mr. Mayor repay it with the current exchange to Ald. H. :Millerd, Sen., W. Taylor, and Mr. R. Dring taking account for same, and that said sum with whatever ballance may remain on the settling with Mr. John Maunsell be repaid said Millerd, Taylor, and Dring, to be applied to the discharge of part of the debt this City is engaged for building Skiddy's Almshous&·; and it is intended said sum should be applied to paying some of the debts of this City, and that the City pay interest at 5 per cent. to the use of the Blue Coat Hospital, said sum being part of the £920 the City is engaged to the Blue Coat Hospital for building the Almshouses aforesaid. That £16 5s. 3d. be paid the Execn. of John Croker, for law business from Mich., 1748 to Mich., 1750. 83-2
