Freeman for the future to be sworn have a copy of such oath delivered to him at the time of his being sworn. That Jonathan Adams, who served Noblet Johnson, chandler, and Thomas, who served his father., Tho. Fuller, mercht., be admitted free. Present-Mr. Mayor, both Sheriffs; Alden. Millerd, Huleat, Croker, Jackson, Fuller, Owgan, Westropp, Winthrop; Mr, Dring, Browne, and W etherall, C. S. 1 July, 1748. This day Mr. John Skeys, C. S., took the oath of a Common Council man,. as the Common Speaker takes same. Present - Mr. Mayor, both Sheriffs ; Alden. Millerd, Croker, J ackso~ Fuller, Owgan, W estropp, Winthrop ; Mr. Browne, Dring, and Skeys, C. S. 26 July, 1748. That Thomas Mitchell have liberty to assign his office of one of tlnl Lamp Masters of this City, and his interest in the Lamps and Materials thereto belonging, to Henry Duggan, and that said Duggan perfect a bond for discharge of said office pursuant to Act of Parliament, for erecting Lamps in this City and Suburbs. That Ald. Millerd, Mr. Dring, and Ald. Taylor inspect Mr. John Mann- sell's accounts relating to Skiddy's and Brettridge's Alms Houses, also Ald. Croker's accounts relating to S. Stephen's Hospital, and report. That £8 be paid Peter Prosser for mending the crack in the Bell ordered to be put up in the City Court House. That £10 be allowed for providing an entertainment at Black Rock V Castle, on 1 Aug., when Mr. Mayor intends to hold a Court there for the /' Conservation of the Cities rights to the river and fishery thereof. Ordered, that Charles, eldest son of Richd. Hill, mercht., dec.; Robert, eldest son of Rev. Boyle Travers, dec., who was eldest son of John Travem, gent, dec., and John Cole, Cooper, who served Luke Wills, be admitted free at large. Present--Mr. Mayor, both Sheriffs ; Alden.
