ltfarch lOth, 1747. A Council summoned at 10 this morning; no business for want of a sufficient number.-Russell Wood, Clk. of Council. Prcs.ent--Mr. Mayor, both Sheriffs; Alden. Croker, Owgan, Westropp, Winthrop, and Mr. Dring. 18 March, 1747. X That the Honl. Robt. French, one of the Lords Justices of this present Assize, be presented with his Freedom in a Silver Box. That £30 2s. 9!d. be paid John Croker, Esq., his bill of costs for pro- curing His Maj. Letters Patent for holding two Fairs annually at the . Lough. -----..,- That £10 lls. which the Chamberlain paid for Votes and English News, on a bill drawn by Mr. Walter Pallisser on the late Mayor, be repaid him. That the Charters of this dity be delivered to Mr. Wood, to be produced on a tryal by Nisi Prius, to come on to-morrow, at the suit of Roger Con- way against the late Sheriffs. Present-Mr. Mayor, both Sheriffs; Alden. Croker, Millerd, Jackson, Newman, Parker, Owgan, Winthrop ; Mr. Dring, Browne, and Wetherall, c. s. 12 May, 1748. That Ald. Owgan, Westropp, Winthrop, and Robt. Travers, with those appointed by the C. D. H., be a Committee to audit the accounts of the Chamberlain, Collectors of Gateage and Customs, W aterbailiff, &c., to 25 Dec. last. That Ald. Millerd and Robt. Dring be a Committee to audit the accounts of :M:r. John Maunsell, · concerning the Charities devised by the Wills of Mr. Brettridge and Mr. Skiddy. This day, Mr. Wood delivered to the Mayor, &c., in open Council, five of the Charters granted to this City, and same were deposited in the Corpo- ration CAest. '-J_ That the ~urn of £5 .a year be allowed for an entertainment for the ""Persons appmnted to audit the public accounts of this City. Ordered, that William Eason, mercht., who served Ald. Fuller, be ad- mitted a Freeman. That six quires of the oath of a .Freeman be printed, and that every
