THE RIGHTS OF THE CITY TO :BE DEFENDED.

Corn Market, and interest due him; order.ed, that a bond for said sum oo executed by ·the Mayor, &c., . to said Dennis, w!th interest at 5 per hundred. That £22 6s. 9d. be paid Mr. John Kennedy, his bill of costs in the suit of the Corporation against Ald. Fuller and others. That £10 7s. 5d. be paid John Rogers for painting the King's Arms and Corporation gallery at Christ Church. Present-Mr. Mayor, both Sheriffs, Mr. Recorder; Alden. Knapp,. Hawkins, Atkins, Millerd, Austen, Huleatt, Croker, Pembrock, Jackson,. Farren, Fuller, Parker, Owgan; Mr. Carre, Trave~s, Dring, Browne, Piersy, and Gaggin, C. S. 11 Aug., 1744. Whereas James Osvil stands charged with the murder of John Curnrnjns on board a ship lying in the river near Co.ve, within the harbour and county of thi~ City, and staEds indicted at this present assizes in the Crown office of said City, and whereas the. present Grand Jury of the Co. of Corke, under colour that said river doth belong to said County~ hath found an indictment for the said fact at the assizes now held for said county, and as it is conceived by this board that the rights of . said City are manifestly invaded, ordered, that Mr: Hoare fee the Recorder, and 3.lso Mr. Smyth and Mr. Walsh, two of the King's Council, and Councillors Macnamara and FitzGibbon, in what manner the rights of the City are most propedy to be defended on this occasion, and to support said rights on the t:ryal of said indictment found by the Grand Jury in the Co. of Corke. Present-Mr. Mayor, both Sheriffs, Mr. Recorder; Ald•n. Atkins, Millerd, Huleatt, Croker, Pembrock, Jackson, FaiTen, Fuller; Parker, Owgan; Mr. Carre, Dring, :Browne, and Gaggin, C. S. 22 Oct., 1744.
