Fuller, Parker, Owgan; Mr. Travers and .Browne. 10 April, 1744. / Whereas by order of the Government war is to be this day proclaimed I . against France, ordered, that Mr. Mayor do provide wine (including the wine which remains of that lately provided on the last rejoicings), in order to drink this evening at the Council Chamber success to his Majesty's arms on declaring said war. Present-Mr. Mayor, both Sheriffs; Alden. Hawkins, Atkins, Millerd, Austen, Huleatt, Croker, Jackson, Wm. Fuller, Parker; Mr. Carre, Dring, and Browne. 30 April, 1744. Mem. No business done this day, signed, Rob. Hoare, Clk. Cole. Present-Mr. Mayor, Sher. W rixon, Mr. Recorder ; Alden. Atkins, Millerd, Huleatt, Croker, Jackson, Wm. Fuller, Owgan; Mr. Dring, Browne, and Allinet, C. S. 8 June, 1744. That £42 1s. 2d. be paid John Croker, Esq., for his bill of costs due on Several Suits. Present-Mr. Mayor, both Sheriffs ; Alden. Atkins, Millerd, Huleatt, Croker, Jackson, Wm. Fuller, Owgan ; Mr. Carre, and C. S. 22 June, 1744. The persons appointed to erect and maintain Lamps have returned to this Board that the following number of Lamps are necessary to be erected, to wit, 114 in the Parish of S. Mary Shandon, 65 in S. Paul's, 100 in S. Peter's, 133 in Holy Trinity, and 26 in S. Nicholas and part of S. Bridget's ; ·ordered, that for supplying the lamps for the year next ensueing the sums mentioned be raised on said parishes, £74 2s. on S. Mary Shandon, £42 5s. on S. Paul's, £65 on S. Peter's, £86 9s. on Holy Trinity, and £16 18s. on S. Nicholas and part of S. Bridget's, at the rate of 13 shiUings for each lamp. That a Memorial be preferred to the Government to procure station and convoy ships for the protection of our trade.
