APPLICATION OF THE CORPORATION FOR SKIDDY'S CASTLE.

21 Sep., 1734. The order of 19 Aug. for a further Charter that Mayors having served be Justices of the Peace read and confirmed. That £9 Os. 2d. be paid Tho. Pembrock for printing work done, and for + the future that Ald. George Bennett shall print what will be wanted for the Corporation, and that said Bennett be paid £2 6s. 6d. for printing in Ald. Croker's Mayoralty. That in case there is any loss upon 20 iron half hundred weights bought by the present Mayor pursuant to the Corn Act said loss be made good by the Corporation. The order of 28 Aug., that a sum not exceeding £300 be allowed, con- firmed. That Ald. Morley be paid £6 for the lodging of the Rt. Hon. Henry Boyle. Present--Tho. Pembrock, Geo. Fuller, Mayor Elect; Rob. Dring and Wal Lavit, Sheriffs ; Ald. Morley, Terry, Bennett, Broclesby, Austin, Croker, Aug. Carre, D. Engain, Ald. Huleatt.

Thos. Farren and Wm. Delahoide, Esqr., sworn of the Council as Sheriffs. That the overseers appointed to repair the Corn Market and Flesh Shambles order same to be done. That £38 19s. 1d. be paid Ald. Croker, for the entertainment to His Excellency Henry Boyle. That the ballance of Mr. Robt. Hoare's account, £12 18s. 11d., be paid. That Mr. John Croker's bill for law costs, £19 1s. 6d., be paid. That Mr. Carye and Mr. Robt. Hoare do write to Lord Chief Justice Rogerson for to put them in a way how to apply, and for his interest, that the Corporation may have Skiddy's Castle, paying the same rent the Government pays for it, upon their preparing a proper place for the Maga- zine in the Old Fort.
