GROU:ND NEAR THE BARRACKS FOR A .MEAT AND .MILK MARKET.
Present--Mr. Mayor, Sher. Newman; Alden. Terry, Broclesby, Bennett, Cramer, Atkins, Millerd, Huleatt; Mr. Fuller, Carey, Engaine, Bousfield, c. s. 14 May, 1733. That Ald. Miller, Sher. N ewenham, Mr. Pembrock, Owgan, and Com. Speaker view the premises that Col G. Rye has petitioned to have a renewal of his lease, and report. Whereas there was an order that Mr. Benj. Pike should appear this day to produce under what title he claimed a right to the fishery of the River Lee from the Round Tower to the White Horse, and he not appearing, Ordered, that all persons who presume to draw said river shall have their nets taken away, except licensed by the Mayor for the time being. That Benjamin Norris, having served his father, Wm. Norris, be admitted free. That George Crone, having served his father, Danl. Crone, be admitted free. Present-Mr. Mayor, Sher. Newenham ; Alden. Delahoide, Terry, Bro- clesby, Millerd; Mr. Carie, Engain, Pembrock, Owgan, Jackson, Bousfield, c. s. Mem. A Council summoned for Thursday, 24 May, 1733, at four o'clock, but eight appeared at 5 o'clock, viz., S. Croker, Mayor, Ald. Terry, Bennett, Cramer, Atkins, Millerd, Fuller, Engaine.-Signed, Rob. Hoare, C. C. 28 May, 1733. That John Maunsell do pay the trustees the overplus rents left by Capt. Bretridge's will, and that Ald. Austen and Mr. Engaine do see same applied to discharge the rents due by Bretridge and Skiddy's Hospitals. That the lot of ground next to that taken from the Corporation near the Barracks be applied to the use of a Meat Market, and that the lot of ground above the passage going into the Barracks be a Milk Market, and that Ald. Bennett, Cramer, Huleatt, Mr. Pembrock, Owgan, and Com. Speaker do prepare drafts of said shambles, treat with workmen for building same, and report. Whereas Ald. Bennett, Atkins, .Sher. Newman, Mr. Owgan, and Com. Speaker viewed the slob or strand that Mr. Saml. Barrett petitioned for leave
