THE MAYOR RECEIVES A THREATE~ING LETTER.

That John, eldest son of Ald. William Hawkins, be admitted a freeman. That Phineas Bury, Mercht., having served Ald. Jos. Lavit, dec., be admitted free. That Saml. Wakely, Mercht., having served Wm. Roberts, Mercht., be admitted free. That the following persons be admitted free : ''/·--~ Dan 1 ., eldest son of John Sullivan, gent., one of the AttY 9 . , an ancient freeman; Hawnby Longfield, Mercht., having served John Hingston; John J oily, having served John Dennis; Francis Adams, Wigmaker, having served y· Th~, Mehan; Wm. Hickgy, Mercht., having served Theodore Van Sevenhoven; George, elaest son of Thomas Berry, Clothier; Robert, eldest son of John Longfield, Esq., dec.; Thomas Dyer, glazier, sou of Thomas Dyer, Mercht.; Edward Beades, barber, having served Garret Nugent, barber chirurgeon, dec. That Mr. Hugh Taylor and Mr. Phillip Grady be admitted free wjthout fine. Unanimously agreed, that Thomas Corker, of the City of Dublin, Mercht., for his good services to this City, be presented with his freedom in a Silver Box. Present-Mr. Mayor, both Sheriffs, Mr. Recorder; Alden. Knapp, Phillips, Morley, Terry, Hawkins, Broclesby, Bennett, Cramer, Rob. Atkins, Millerd, Jn. Atkins_; Mr. Croker, Power, Lane, Mr. Com. Speaker. 5 Dec., 1730. Mr. Mayor communicated to this Board a letter delivered him by Mr. Phineas Bagwell, Post Master of this City, superscribed and wrote in manner following; " To the Mayor of Corke" (on the back near the seal) " Post Master, Deliver this or weel burn your house;" (inside) "Mr. Mayre, we are just come from England and Cash is Low, you must on Sundy nite put 50 gineays under Peter's Stocks, or you may depend if you fail the consquence will be fire and Destruction, for we Can't starve, your friends desire your W elfare.-Philo."-(Original spelling.) Resolved, that Mr. Mayor do by to-morrow's post send a copy of the above-mentioned letter to the Government. Present--Mr. Mayor, both Sheriffs; Alden. Knapp, Allen, Morley, Terry,
