The Common Speaker's petition in relation to the Augmentation of the Mayor's Sallery was read in Council and passed the first reailing. Present-1\Ir. 1\fayor, Loth Sheriffs; Alden. Phillips, Lavit, Terry, Brock- lesby; Mr. Wilson, Croker, Austin, Atkins, :Mr. Com. Speaker (postea), Ald. Morley. 23 Dec., 1724. That the order of the Court of Deer hundred confirming tho Bye-law in relation to the election of officers, who are first to be freemen before such election, also the order in relation to the Augmentation of the present . y Mayor's Sallery to £365 pe)• annu'm, read a second time, and also in v \ Council, both orders to be confirmed. That the Corporation bonds to ~Ir. 'Vill. Spread for £150 each be changed into two bonds of the like sum to 1\Ir.•John Spread, and that tho sum of £18 interest due on said bonds Le paid 1\fr. 'Villiam Spread in full for inte- rest due 6 inst. That £15 be paid Ald. Pierse for an entertainment given by him 281\Iay, 1723, being the King's birthday. That £7 68. 5d. be paid Ald. J>ierse for an entertainment at Blackrock, also 538. 9d. expended by him on the manor of Faha. Present-Mr. Mayor, two Sheriffs; Alden. Crone, Phillips, Terry, Lavit, Broklesby; 1\Ir. Wilson, Addis, Atkins, Mr. Com. Speaker (postea), Mr. Croker. 1 Feb., 1724. That Mr. Masters lay before the next Council an account of the profits arising out of the lands given by Capt. Bretridge towards supporting several poor persons. That £5 be paid Mr. Somerville for a year's attendance at North Gaol. That £7 58. be paid Mr. John Croker, law expenses at the suit of the Corporation. 57
