THE CITY GATES TO BE REPAIRED A~ ME~DED.

withdraw on reading the order of 17 Sep. last. The Mayor, &c., proceeded to consider the judgement proper to be given against Ed. Knapp and Ed, Hoare, Weighmasters; the question being put whether they should be re- moved from their office, it was carried in the affirmative. On the request of Knapp and Hoare that they should get notice of the time of pronouncing the judgment against them, ordered, that ~fr. Webber, the Town Clerk, do give notice that they have appointed the 29 Oct. Present-Mr. Mayor, two Sheriffs, 1\fr. Recorder; AhJ.un. Crone, Bro'\\'lle, Delahoid, Phillips, Terry, 1\forley; 1\fr. 'Vilson, Ald. Ab. French, Mr. Croker, Austen, Addis. 19 Oct., 1724. \;. That £10 be allowed for the entertainment to-morrow, being the King's \/\ Coronation-day, the two Sheriffs and Com. Speaker provide same. That 3 guineas be paid for Sermons preached on the following days : tho Election-day, 1\ficluelmas-day and Swearing-day, preached by 1\Ir. Townsend, 1\Ir. Boyle Davies, and 1\fr. Somerville. That 1\fr. W ooarufe take care to see the City Gates repaired and mended. Present-Mr. Mayor, two Sheriffs ; Alden. Crone, Phillivs, Morley, Terry ; Mr. Wilson, Croker, 1\Iorrison, 1\fr. Com. Speaker, Addis and Ald. Lavit. 27 Oct., 1724. That 20 shillings be added to the £10 for Coronation-day entertainment. Present-1\Ir. Mayor, two Sheriffs; Alden. Crone, Delahoid, Phillips, Morley, Terry, Lavit; 1\fr. 1\forrison, Wilson, Addis, Croker, Austen, Mr. Com. Speaker. 29 Oct., 1724. That the judgment this day agreed against the Weighmasters be entred in the Council Book. That Ald". Knapp and Ald. Hoare have notice that the Mayor, &c., pur- suant to a power vested in them, have removed said Knapp and Hoare from the W eighmastership of tlus City, and that they desist until restored by due course of law. That £10 148. 5d. be paid the Mayor for clothes for the Blue Coats and Keeper of the Exchange. That .Ald. Knapp and Hoare have a copy of the above judgment, signed by order by the Clerk of the Council
