Phillips, Common Speaker, be Overseers of the work, and do agree by the foot with the stone-cutters for the stones, and that AlU. Goddard be Treasurer. Also agreed, that the above Overseers have power to agree with the persons for the tenancy of the shops in the old Exchange. Ald. Cottrell to join Ald. GoddarJ in overseeing the repairing the South end of the street. That Francis Power and Wm. Roberts be admitted free on their petition. That William Leaghy be admitted free upon the act. That the above overseers do view the encroachments on the Town Wails and report. The same to discourse the matter of a nuisance on Tuckey's quay and endeavour tn settle same with Capt. Dunscombe and Mr. Tuckey. An acquittance to be passed under the City seal for the year's annuity from the Vintners' Company of London, for Slciddye's Alms-house, ending 25 March last, to be given to Mr. Tho. Browne for the weekly payment of the poor men and women therein. That George Johnson, tallow-chandler, be admitted free, having served Thomas Phillips. Present-Mr. J.Iayor, both Sheriffs; Alden. Crone, Chartres, Goddard, Whiting, Cottrell, Rogers, Jun. ; Mr. Walker, Perrie, Browne. 4 June, 1711. That Ebenezar Pike be required to forbear stopping the ancient current of the water without the West gate complained of, and that all such ditches or walls that he shall presume to make thereon be pulled down and such as offend shall be bound over to appear next assizes. That Francis Roland be admitted free. That Francis Hodder, Esq., be admitted free, being the son of a freeman. That Ald. Morris be Ald. of the Ward instead of Ald. Roberts. Present--lfr.
