COUNTY GRAND JURY PRES~~TME~T AGAINST THE MAYOR.

That the Right Revd; father in God Dive., Lord Bishop of Corke and Ross, be presented with his freedom of this City under the City seal in a silver box. Present-Mr. Mayor and Mayor Elect, Sher. Andrews, Alden. Wright, Alwin, Crone, Renew, Roberts; Mr. Walker, Mr. Perrie, Mr. Champion. 5 A WJ., 1699: Whereas information is given us that a presentment is made by th& Grand Jury of the County against the l\fayor of Corke for encroaching on their ground in our last perambulation of our Liberties, ancl as we per- ambulated no more than was laid out to us by the writ of perambulation in the year 1609, ordered, that we assert our right at the public charge, enter traverse to. said presentment, and come on to a fair tryal. That John Lory have 40s. per annum for looking after the Walk and keeping it clean and sweeping the Grand Jury stairs. Present-Mr. Mayor, Sher. Yeomans, Alden. Wright, Crofts, Crone,. Chartres, French, Roberts; Mr. Ronaine, Mr. Walker, Mr. Terry, Mr. Champion.. 7 Sep., 1699. Ordered, that the Mayor pay Ald. Rogers the 16 pounds by him received on account of the Alms-house from the Society of Vintners, London, and 40s. exchange, and take Ald. Rogers' receipt for same, and on account of his disbursements in building the Alms--house, that the work may be finished. l'hat Warham. St. Leger be admitted free gratis. That Ald. Tuckey have liberty to build houses on Ormond Quay (not- withstanding the covenant in his lease to. the contrary), he leaving 20 feet clear in breadth for a quay j this order to be endorsed on the back of the lease. That the quay just without the East gate of this City be pitched at the Corporation charge. That a thin gate of the bight of a deal be made to the passage going into· the middle gate of the Shambles, just opposite the Angel, to prevent the 35-2_
