Patterson, expenses of sending soldiers' wives and others left behind after different embarkations to England; It., £6 lOs. 8d. to Philip Allen, Esq., Mayor Elect, for repairing the stable belonging to the Mansion House ; It., £7 ls. 4!d. to James and Henry Knight for printing work; It., £7 8s. 3d. to the Mayor and Sheriffs Elect to repair the lower part of the Corn Market, under the inspection of George Barber; It., £22 16s. lOjd. to Sheriff Pope, so much paid by him for the use of the Corporation. In consequence of the active exertions of George Barber, and useful services, as well for the Corporation as the inhabit~nts of this City, this Board think it but justice to grant to the said George Barber a salary of 20 guineas a year; It., £4 4s. 3d. to W. Jones, paid by him for the Corpor- ation; It., £32 14s. lO!d. to Jonathan Davis, Smith, for work done from 4 June, 1798, to 19 Sep., 1799. That the Revd.
