A GOLD MEDAL TO BE PRESENTED TO THE LATE MAYOR.

Rowland, Kingston, Harris, Shaw, Puxley; Mr. Izo d, Busteed, Bousfield Leycester, and Harding, C. S. 28 Oct., 1796. Vesian Pick, Esq., Mayor. The Sheriffs sworn into the Council. Mr. Walter Hussey Fitton, who for some time past kept possession of 'the Coal Barrels, having this day applyed to the Board for payment of a demand he alledges to have against th~ Corporation on "account of them, ·and Ml'.. Fitton having engaged to this Board, within three weeks from ·date hereof, to deliver up to the Waterbailiff 50 Coal Barrels, 14 half.. Barrels, and 20 three-quarter Barrels, in good order; ordered, that upon said ·Fitton's performing his engagement he shall be paid £135 11s. 10d., deducting a guinea and a half for each Barrel, a guinea for each half B-arrel, ·and half a guinea for each quarter Barrel, not delivered in good order within said .time. It., that 20 new coal barrels be provided, and that a.n advertisement be published, that the Mayor and Mr. Westropp will receive _proposals from such persons as are willing to contract; It., £29 19s. 3d. to the Mayor, for carpeting for the Mansion House, and papering some of the . :rooms ; It., 5 guineas to the Mayor and Mr. Kinselagh, for providing .. )( cloathing ,for Tom Bu;,ke ; It., that a Go~d Medal be provided, to be pre- sented to John Thompson, Esq., with such inscription as contained in the resolution of the Court, 5 Oct., 1795, this Board being unanimous in their opinion of the merits of Ald. Thompson during the year of his chief Magistracy, and that our approbation of Gen. Massey's conduct be for- warded to him. Present-Mr. Mayor, Sher. Gibbings and Allen; Alden. Lawton, Sir S. Row land, Harris, Shaw, Thompson, Lucas ; Mr. Izod, W estropp, Busteed, and Harding, C. S. 30 Dec., 1796. }~ _Ordered, that Mr. Kent do buy 100 barrels of coals; It., that £200 as the immediate donation of this Corporation be paid to the Mayor, Sher. Gibbins, Sir S. Rowland, and Mr. Bousfield, to be by them expended in such manner as they and Ald. Thompson, Mr..
