16 July, 1796. That the Hon. C. Jones, Esq., Com. H. 1v1. Ship Doris, be presented with his freedom in a Silver Box, in testimony of the high sense we entertain of his services in protectioll' of the Commercial interest, and in support of the Honor of the British Flag; also Capt. Robt. Oliver, H. M. N. ; Bernard Shaw, Esq., Collector of the Port of Cork; and John Cuthbert, Esq., Sur- veyor-General, be admitted freemen at large. Ordered, that £10 be paid John Fitz Gerald, for calculating the middle price of wheat and Flour, regulating the Assize of Bread, and calculating the middle and average prices of all corn and flour sold in this City, to be returned by the Mayor to the Collector of the Port. Present-Mr. Mayor Sher. Jackson; Alden. Lawton, Owgan, Kent, King- ston, Shaw, Thompson ; Mr. Izod, Bousfield, Leycester, and Mr. C. S. 9 Sep., 1796.
