dues, and such other dues, &c., as have been collected for the use of this Corporation by the Water Bailiff and his Deputies, from 29 Sep. inst., to 29 Sep., 1796, after payment of the charges of the office, be paid to a Com- mittee of 15 to be chosen in C. D. H., to be applied to the improvement of the River and Harbour, giving an account to this Board; It., that £60 out of the above Fees be paid to the person to be appointed Waterbailiff. It., That a posting be put up in the Exchange, for electing a Waterbailiff for one year (duties and sureties as before). It being the opinion of this Board, that letting the dues collected by the Deputy Waterbailiff at Cove and Passage, by proposals, will considerably increase the revenue, ordered, that an advertisement be published, that the Mayor will receive sealed proposals from such persons as shall undertake the collection of such dues from the Monday next after the 29 Sep. to Monday after 29 Sep., 1796. It., that the members of the Common Council, any five to be a quorum, be a committee for viewing the accounts of the Corporation; It., that the Mayor and Sheriffs elect, C. S., Ald. Harris, and Mr. Busteed be a committee for auditing accounts and directing any necessary works. It., that a.n ad- vertisement be inserted in the Papers, that the Mayor will receive pro- posals until 30 Sep. from such persons as will purchase the street dung for one year, to be allotted in three divisions : one, all the streets, lanes and alleys at the nort.h side of the N9rth Bridge ; another, all the south side of the river Lee; a third, all within the two branches of the river Lee; the persons accepted to be at the expense of collecting the dung, to find proper places to deposit same, to pay one fourth of the money in hand, and find security for the remainder, and under penalty to keep the streets constantly swept and clean. It., that the Mayor, &c., for the time being, be impowered to let by lease for 5 years such stalls in the New Markets as are out of lease, no lease to be transferable, and to expire in case of the death of the taker.
