Scope and Content: Lyons writes that he visited Mr Scannell at his studio yesterday and reminded him to include the arm and crown of the MacCarthy family coat-of-arms in the design of the plaque. He says that Scannell can also install the plaque for an additional fee, and that he, Lyons, can supply the horse and cart to transport the plaque from Dunmanway train station.

Scope and Content: Lyons writes that he was at Togher Castle yesterday with Mr Scannell for the installation of the MacCarthy an Orsa plaque. Lyons thinks his duties as a priest will prevent him from living in the castle but he hopes to sleep there occasionally. He notes that the roof is completed and that he will finishing repairing the windows and doors soon. He thanks Daniel for the marriage agreement, and plans to send Daniel some relics from the castle soon.

Scope and Content: Lyons encloses a cheque of £10 [included] and a receipt from Mr Scannell [not included] for the MacCarthy an Orsa plaque. He notes that Scannell carried out all of Daniel's directions very carefully. Lyons writes that he is "very happy to learn that my efforts in restoring [Togher Castle] have afforded you so much pleasure."
