Lyons writes of the "revolution" which has taken place at Togher Castle in the four years since he last wrote to Daniel. He says that he is a tenant there since the death of his mother in 1892. He discusses the building works he has been carrying out to the structures and land surrounding the castle, and repairs he has made to the stairs in the castle. He regrets that these works were not carried out 30 years ago when Daniel first took an interest in it, and that Daniel is unlikely to visit now at this stage in his life.

Lyons writes that he has sent a copy of the plate [design] to Mr Scannell, Douglas Street [Cork] who can make the plaque for Togher Castle in stone or brass. He discusses the progress of the building works at the castle and notes that the work is drawing much attention from the local people.
