Scope and Content: Lyons writes that he has been ill and that "a dear sister died in this neighbourhood, leaving a son only two years old and an infant daughter only two months", which delayed his writing. It seems that Lyons enclosed a map of Gleann-a-Chroim with the letter, but it is not included. He describes its boundaries and locations of various archaeological sites. He notes that Daniel's correspondent "must be a weaver in Dunmanway known by the people as Donal-an-Orsa."

Item
Extent: Part of:
4pp
PR70/B
Scope and Content: Lyons writes that he has been very busy with parish duties hence his delay in writing. He says that a Protestant clergyman living in England, whose brother is landlord of Togher, has written to Lyons about Togher Castle. Lyons has measured the castle on his behalf, and may commission a photographer to document the castle soon. He also includes a translation of a line from "Donall's caoine" [keen].
