Scope and Content: Lyons encloses a letter he received from Dr Coveney, Enniskean, dated 19 November 1875 regarding "the mansion of Carrigmore" which might be suitable for Daniel's son Florence and his family to purchase, as the owner, Mr Holmes, has just died of alcoholism. Lyons further discusses the house in his letter, and mentions some new information he has found to link Donall na Tuille with the last occupants of Togher Castle.

Lyons writes that Dr Coveney can send Daniel's son Florence a map of Carrigmore House and demesne which was made by Lysaght in 1852. Lyons discusses the possible value of the land associated with the house, and notes that "[o]ne thing will be very much in favour of the purchaser of Carrigmore, there is no tenant on the land so that he will not have to hear the public odium of ejecting him or raising his rent."

Lyons writes that Carrigmore House has been purchased "for a trifle over £7,000 …" He discusses lands owned by the Shuldham and Stawell families near Dunmanway, and a mistake made by Daniel in the pedigree of Taigh Deargh. Lyons includes two verses by Donal na [?Tuileh] in Irish (and their English translations) relating to Togher Castle, and discusses his intention to collect books written in Irish and donate them to the diocesan seminary. He also mentions a collection of manuscripts which have been left by Father [?Daniel] O'Sullivan, but are now "neglected in a lumber room of Canon O'Brien in Bandon ..."
