Scope and Content: Keleher says that Eleanor [MacCarthy] visited to discuss her son Denis and that she thinks "it would be better to send him to America where he would do better as a labourer than in this country even with a trade ... She says moreover that as his sister is there already his presence even may be of use to the poor girl." He also discusses the harvest and potato blight, and says the "chances of a good crop are better than they have been for years at this season. I need not add how precarious the crop has become ..."
