Graves discusses his father being a "college companion and most intimate friend" of the late Justin MacCarthy, "who was I believe of your Sept". He sends Daniel proofs and a copy of the "Blackwater" papers, and says that he has also sent a proof to "O'Donovan" [John O'Donovan] for notes. He also asks if Daniel can research Duncannon Fort [County Wexford] in the State Papers Office.
