Daniel MacCarthy Glas Collection- Descriptive List

Descriptive list of the Daniel MacCarthy (Glas) Collection

Part of:

PR70/B

Scope and Content: The letters and enclosures are concerned with the results of genealogical enquiries made on behalf of Daniel MacCarthy in Dunmanway, County Cork. In one of the letters, Gillman apologises that her son has still not been in touch with Daniel, and says that he is away at the moment and she does not know when he will return. The handwriting of some of the letters is quite difficult to read in parts as it is faded, and written both across and lengthways on the page.

Extract of a letter from Mary J Gillman to John O’Donovan. An example of some of the challenging handwriting in the collection. (PR70/B/95)
