Daniel MacCarthy Glas Collection- Descriptive List

Descriptive list of the Daniel MacCarthy (Glas) Collection

Part of:

PR70/B

Scope and Content: Caulfield writes that he and his wife have not started any of their expeditions yet, as there is a "spirit of lawlessness abroad ... [and] one does not know who you may meet." He says that it will be "a dreadful thing if communism in any form should develop itself", and that "American rowdyism is in vogue, and there is nothing worse." He assures Daniel that the [John O'Donovan] letters are now safe for all time, stored in a bookcase, "the one with glass and a lock and key."
