Scope and Content: Numerous studies, pencil sketches, and watercolour paintings of farm animals (sheep, goats, cows, horses, dogs), horse riding and hunting scenes, landscapes, and some people. Some of the images are possibly woodcuts, while others appear to have been cut from publications. Most are not signed by the artist, but it appears that some were created by Henry Popham Tenison MacCarthy, while a small number are dated 1884-1886, so were likely created by Florence Strachan MacCarthy.

Scope and Content: Mainly landscape and figurative watercolour paintings and sketches. Most appear to have been painted in India where Henry was serving with the British Army. Three of the paintings are inscribed on the reverse: "Rico – Received 11 April 1857. Daniel MacCarthy." Several of the paintings are signed "P MacCarthy" [?Popham MacCarthy (Henry Popham Tenison MacCarthy)].
